It's Fall in Boulder, Which Means Family Sessions and High School Senior Portraits!

Welcome!

If you're new here, it might be because I've photographed your kiddos at a local school event sometime in the recent past. I love donating my photography expertise to our schools because I know how much the kids love to see themselves in these photos doing their thing (and the parents are pretty happy too!).

Speaking of schools, if you have a high school senior graduating this year, it's time to get those senior portraits. I love offering lifestyle sessions for seniors to tell the story of who they are right now. Does your senior have a special hobby or sport that they love? Let's incorporate that into their photos too. Reach out to book today.

Yearbook deadlines for senior portraits:

  • Boulder High School: October 6, 2023
  • New Vista High School: November 7, 2023
  • Fairview High School: January 13, 2024

It's fall. If you hadn't noticed, it turned to fall overnight and this morning's bike ride was brisk. I'm not quite ready for it, but starting to psych myself up for all the things coming up: leaf-peeping, camping, Halloween, and the holidays. It is one of my favorite seasons, though I do love summer too. On that note, it's never too early to plan for holiday gift-giving, and photos are always in style. If this is something you've been thinking of, please reach out! In addition to my regular sessions, I also just released the dates for my mini-sessions (see below).

That's all for now! Thanks for allowing me to pop into your inbox this month. Keep an eye out for future news and offerings!

UPCOMING OPPORTUNITIES

It's Fall Family Mini Session Season

My mini-sessions just went live, so if you want to update those family photos and leverage the gorgeous yellow leaves that Colorado has to offer, click on the link below.

On September 24, I'm heading up to Mud Lake near Nederland to take advantage of the fall colors. Then on October 14, I'll be down near Boulder to capture my clients with some colorful cottonwoods.

If you book before September 17th for either date, you'll receive a keepsake metal holiday ornament. Just be sure to mention that you heard about this from my newsletter. I'd love to photograph your family!

Take a look at last year's Fall Family Mini Sessions down at the South Mesa Trailhead here. It was a gorgeous time and the weather cooperated! Here's hoping the same for this year!

What's happening in Boulder?

  • Food Lab has some great kids' classes that are fun and educational (and yummy too!). If you've not checked them out before, it can be a lot of fun, so says my kids.
  • The New Local has classes for the whole family in jewelry-making, weaving, and ceramics. I haven't yet taken any of these, but if you have, let me know how you liked them!
  • The Boulder Bookstore has been one of our family favorites for forever. They offer lots of resources, including Open Mic nights, book clubs, and more. Plus, ya know, it's a bookstore. How can you go wrong?
  • And finally, the Boulder County Farmer's Market on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Always fun. Always yummy. Should have an amazing harvest over the next couple of months!

Photography Tips:

The Rule of Thirds is a composition technique that divides the image into thirds horizontally and vertically. Place your subject along one of the intersections of the line to create a balanced and aesthetically pleasing image.

Hi! I'm Natasha

I’m a Family Photographer and Filmmaker (and Geologist!). Since 2016, I’ve switched from telling stories of ancient geologic environments to telling stories of families and children. Over the years, I’ve polished my craft like water polishes rock.

Photography is science and light and I think that’s why I love it so much: these are my superpowers.
